K-12 Schedule of Tuition & Fees

2012-2013 School Year

  The average cost to educate any K-12 student at LSA is over $5,700 per student.  Because of the outstanding support from our LSA churches, along with donations, we are able to charge the following Tuition Rates & Fees for the 2012-13 School Year.  Payment plans up to a 12 monthly payment option are available. 

LSA offers financial aid in various forms to do all we can to help families who want their children at LSA.

ELEM / MIDDLE SCHOOL (K – 8 ) YEARLY TUITION – LSA CONGREGATION MEMBER

The 12 month payment plan runs June – May.  There is a 9 month payment plan available (leaving summer months without tuition payments).  Families with financial needs are encouraged to apply for financial aid.

 

Families with a student in both the HS & Elementary/Jr. High:  the high school rate would be the 1st child followed by Elementary/Jr. High rates for additional students.

 

TUITION AID is available but is limited to:  first applications received, completed financial aid applications, those families making effort to participate in the LSA Scrip program, and while budgeted funds still exist. 

Tuition is pro-rated on a monthly basis (cost per day) for students enrolling after September 15.

 REQUIRED FEES

Fees may be paid by cash, check, or credit card only (applicable fees per credit card apply).  Unless noted, fees are non-refundable and non-transferable and must be paid by the first day of school.  Some fees may be financed if participating in the 12 month payment plan beginning in June prior to the beginning of school. 

REGISTRATION FEE

This fee is non-refundable and has to be paid as per the monthly schedule.  Early enrollment helps the school make staffing and program decisions in a responsible and timely manner and ensures enrollment while space is limited.  All necessary paperwork must accompany the fee to be fully registered.  Returning LSA families will be given first opportunity to enroll in February before the general public.  Returning families with multiple students may communicate the intent to make staggered payments in February and March (and following) paying one registration fee each month consecutively.  Paperwork for all of the family should accompany the first payment.

ACTIVITY FEE

This fee is non-refundable and may be financed on the 12 month payment plan or be paid on Registration Day in August (by the first day of school).  This fee is a one time fee that covers an elementary school yearbook and most all specific student activities (amount is averaged for students & helps in operations) for students in grades K-12.       

$75.00 per student – Grades K-8          $100.00 per student – High School

TEXTBOOK / TECHNOLOGY FEE

This fee is non-refundable and may be financed on the 12 month payment plan or be paid on Registration Day in August (by the first day of school).  While all classes will not necessarily directly benefit each year, this annual book / technology fee supports the ongoing commitment to keep in place the most updated textbooks and technology.  

Grades K-12                  $100.00 per student

 

ATHLETIC FEE / PARTICIPATION FEE

This fee funds programs at LSA and needs to be paid on or before the first day of practices for student participation in each sport or co-curricular program (i.e. Scholastic Bowl, etc.) each season.  Should a player not “make a team”, the fee will be refunded.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION FEE

This is a non-refundable fee that must be paid on Registration Day in August.  All 6th grade students participate. 

Grade 6 only                  $65.00 per student                    

 

OTHER EXPENSES (as applicable)

Expenses may be paid by cash, check, or credit card only (applicable fees per credit card apply) 

PE UNIFORMS                    $15.00 for shorts and $5.00 for a t-shirt – required for grades 5-12 PE classes 

LUNCH PROGRAM            Hot Lunches:    K-8 students $2.75                     High School students $3.00

$.50 per milk only – milk is included with hot lunch purchases 

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Method of Payment

  • Payments may be paid in full by cash, check (made to: LSA), or credit card (applicable fees apply) or for tuition by using automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account. 

Payment Options

  • 1 payment of tuition in full (made at Registration) by cash, check, or credit card (applicable fees apply).
  • 4 payments of tuition (September, December, February and May) through FACTS Management (fee applies).
  • 9 payments of tuition (monthly September through May) through FACTS Management (fee applies). 

All fees are paid up front for families choosing the 1 payment option or the 4 or 9 month payment option 

  • 12 payments of tuition (monthly June through May) through cash, check, or credit card for June – August and then through FACTS Management September – May (fee applies).

 The student activity fee and the book / technology fee may be financed with the 12 month payment option

 FACTS Management $ 41.00 per family is the set up fee – as determined by FACTS.  This is a service for the all monthly payment of tuition.  All plans will be an automatic deduction from a family checking or savings account.  You may go online to www.lsadecatur.net to set up your automatic withdrawal.  Please contact the office if you need assistance.

Delinquent Payments / NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) – In addition to any bank penalties, there is a $25.00 fee in the school office for any NSF status on any method of payment.  The payment and penalty will need to be made by certified check or cash within 15 days for student enrollment to continue.  See LSA Collection Procedures.

Financial Aid - A variety of scholarships and aid are available.  All students seeking financial aid must apply and pay the processing fee usually by April 15 and typically using the LSA approved assessment agency.  Application does not guarantee assistance.  Financial aid is based on need and usually only up to a maximum of 50% of the total tuition per student to those who have fully registered for LSA, are using the LSA Scrip program, and while budgeted funds are yet available.

Referrals – Current LSA families who encourage a new family to attend LSA will receive $100 per new student off of their final tuition payment after the new family attends LSA for the entire school year.  Tell a family about LSA.

 Refund Policy – Tuition paid in one payment is refundable on a pro-rated monthly basis.  Monthly tuition will not be refunded if a child has attended at least one day of any month.  Unless noted, all fees are non-refundable.
