Delivering excellence in Christ-centered education to meet the spiritual, academic and social needs of its students

In Memory of Miss Sablotny

The Senior Class of 2011 left this stain glass window as their gift for the school in memory of their class sponsor, Miss Sablotny, the LSA art instructor who passed away last year. The class had come up with the idea for the project after seeing the 8th Grade auction item at the LSA Auction earlier this year.

The mural consists of numerous pieces that were all brought into consideration in the Senior Class’ meetings with the help of long-time LSA teacher Mrs. Bryant. The small square tiles were made by the students of the class, and all of these tiles were personalized by the students. Some of tiles are very creative; one tile looks like a sunset, while another looks like a McDonald’s Sweet Tea. The crown on the top of the mural was brought in by chance after the students had discovered a sketch Miss Sablotny had done, the crown, which was originally intended to be used for a mural in the elementary school. After discovering the sketch, the seniors believed it would make an excellent addition to the mural. The verse that rests under the crown, Revelation 2:10, reads “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”

Please stop by sometime and check out the mural. We promise it is worth the look!
